Common Questions About Estate Planning

Estate planning can be a difficult and confusing process. Taking the time to actually sit down and create a plan for the future can be overwhelming for some, and we want to help you take those first steps toward putting a plan in place.

Many of our estate planning clients ask us questions about the process, and we wanted to take a moment to address some of the most common things we are asked at our firm. If you have a question, please feel free to reach out to us and we can help you understand the specific options available for you and your family.

Q: What’s the best estate plan for me?

A: This really depends on your situation. One of our attorneys will walk you through all of your options and work with you to put a plan in place that obtains your specific goals.

Q: How much does it cost to create an estate plan?

A: Our firm handles most of the estate planning work on a flat-fee basis. Our attorneys can meet with you to determine your specific needs, and provide a quote for the cost. Our goal is to make sure your needs are met.

Q: When should I create an estate plan?

A: The sooner, the better. Even those who feel that they lack the assets needed to create a plan should take the time to discuss their options. You need to be sure that your loved ones and family members know what to do in the event you are unable to make decisions regarding your medical care or pass away unexpectedly. It is absolutely necessary if you have minor children, to designate guardians or trustees in your will.
