Biography
Brenda L. Teig has practiced law in both the public and private sector for over 25 years. As an undergraduate student at the University of Northern Iowa, Brenda studied Public Administration with an emphasis in Public Services and was a member of the honor society Omicron Delta Kappa. In 1997, she received her J.D. from the University of Oregon Law school where she obtained a Trusts and Estate Certificate.
After clerking for Clark County District Court, Brenda worked in Las Vegas creating and developing Pro Se Clinics in conjunction with the newly established William S. Boyd School of Law school. While in private practice in San Francisco, she represented artists and athletes including the Estate of Tupac Shakur, as well as, served as a member of the California Bar Examination Wills & Trust committee developing consensus answers and grading bar applicant essay questions. She later worked as a Public Interest attorney in Salt Lake City where she also taught a course on Not-For-Profit Organizations at S.J. Quinney Law School.
Over the course of her legal career, Brenda has been a member of several local Bar Associations, served on a number of nonprofit Board of Directors including Children First of the Rockies in Longmont. In 2010 she was recognized by the Utah State Bar as Pro Bono Legal Aid Attorney of the Year.
Brenda lives in Niwot with her husband, two dogs and two kids. She currently serves as President of the Niwot High School Boosters and is a member of the Left-Hand Giving Circle.
