Mr. Carlson has practiced law in Boulder County since 1985 after 9 years in Iowa where he practiced privately, worked with a Prisoner Assistance Program, served as a Deputy District Attorney, directed a Legal Aide Society, and served as County Bar Association President.
Mr. Carlson has extensive experience with EEIOC claims. Read his article on the Energy Employee Occupational Illness Compensation Act and Rocky Flats.
He graduated from Luther College (1971, Magna Cum Laude) and the University of Iowa Law School (1974). He is one unit short of having an MA in History.
Mr. Carlson has contributed to several community organizations, churches, Boulder County Legal Services, and legal information clinics. He has lectured on criminal and constitutional topics before legal seminars and community organizations and contributed op-ed pieces to local newspapers.
He is a member of the Colorado and Iowa Bar Associations and has appeared in State and Federal District and Appellate Courts in several states.
